Museums and Sistine Chapel are open from Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 7 pm, last entry at 5 pm (from January 2024). The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are closed on SUNDAYS and for holidays on the following days: January 1st and 6th, February 11th, March 19th, May 1st, Easter, June 29th, August 15th and 16th, November 1st, and December 8th, 25th, and 26th. No shorts or sleeveless outfits are permitted. We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes. PAPAL AUDIENCE
Please be aware that on Wednesday there is a possibility that St Peter's Basilica is unavailable due to the weekly Papal Audience during which access to the Basilica is closed and that, on rare occasions, it closes without notice. If this happens, I'll provide you a full 4 hours touring the Vatican Museums. |

Dino was amazing! We bypassed all the lines. He gave us an in-depth history of the Vatican as well as the art. He used pictures of the Sistine Chapel ceiling to give us things to look for and to understand the paintings since you can not talk inside the chapel. Dino greeted us at our hotel, provided a brief overview in English to the scheduled tour for the day, and then directed us a to a taxi to the Vatican City. The tour was for myself and my 16-year-old daughter. We bypassed the HUGE lines thanks to Dino and then went inside. He provided an informative summary on the Vatican's history before taking us through the highlights of the museums, through the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, and outside.
